High school comes with layers of stress and exploration. Social media, relationships, and college preparation all contribute to stress and worry. Teens may feel overwhelmed, nervous, and discouraged at times. This twelve week group utilizes yoga, breathwork, guided meditation, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills to identify and release emotions in a healthy manner.
Group work provides a safe, non judgemental environment for growth and connection. Group
also helps teen girls to know they are not alone, and to empower them with a calm and positive experience.
Yoga and meditation are used weekly in this group to provide tools and practices for mindfulness and stress relief. Each week builds upon skills learned in the previous weeks, reinforcing the work and building confidence in using skills outside of group. This group is both for those new to yoga and counseling, as well as teens experienced with mindfulness and therapy.
All bodies are worthy, and all bodies are yoga bodies. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing.
Group meets on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30pm. $30 per group. Mats and props provided. No group during spring break. Liz Goebel leads this group.
